La Garenne Senior School is a fully accredited International Baccalaureate® World School providing outstanding education for students aged from 14 to 18. We offer the IB Middle Years Programme, the IB Diploma and the La Garenne High School Diploma. Small class sizes favour a personalised approach based on inquiry and investigative learning.
Teaching and learning for senior students takes place at Le Roc, a newly-renovated building just a few steps from the original La Garenne campus. Le Roc has state-of-the-art classrooms, a design studio and a fitness centre. It also hosts a large refectory, libraries, a multi-use Community Floor and modern en-suite accommodation for boarding students.
Our Senior School embodies all the values which have served La Garenne’s students so well for generations. Le Roc is designed to nurture the talents of each student and meet their individual needs. The boarding environment creates the stability and structure for each student to thrive and develop socially within a caring family environment.

Enabling each student to achieve academic success and develop a passion for life-long learning and discovery are central objectives at this level. Following successful completion of the IB Middle Years Programme, students can choose one of two academic pathways for their final two years of study:
The IB Diploma programme challenges students to become independent thinkers and learners, preparing them for higher education. Through the unique core components of Creativity, Activity and Service, the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones.
The High School Diploma enables students who have significant commitments to extra-curricular activities or whose future study plans do not require the full IB Diploma to achieve greater success. La Garenne’s HSD is particularly suited to those who plan to pursue a career in business or hospitality, or who wish to apply to US universities.

Global citizenship is further encouraged by school trips led by our experienced staff from around the world. These trips are planned to complement and reinforce the academic programme. They typically involve outstanding learning opportunities to take part in service projects.

All Senior School students are required to take part in expeditions and overseas trips to broaden their outlook on life and contribute to their own personal growth as young adults. These trips complement and reinforce the academic programme and typically involve taking part in voluntary service projects.
