On Friday 6th October 2023, M2 and M3 students gave their time to support the Commune of Ollon in removing fencing around the ski area in Bretaye ahead of the winter sports season beginning this year.
They worked efficiently and showed teamwork. Our guides were very impressed with their dedication to get the job completed. It was great to see our students interact with the local commune, as they got to practise their French communication skills as well.
We are working on more opportunities and community links in the coming terms, so that students can be proud of and feel fully part of the area in which they are growing up.
Our students enjoyed the thrilling roller coasters at Europa Park, the largest theme park in Germany.
They travelled by luxury coach arriving in Germany in the early evening ready for some serious fun at the water park Rulantica. The two-day trip was memorable for them, and they all had great fun!
Sports tournaments and outdoor adventures are integral parts of our community vision. Our students engage in spirited competitions against other International Schools including in football, golf, volleyball and mountain biking.
Team sports within the Beau Site are equally important for fostering a great spirit within the boarding house. Events such as the Icebreaker at the start of term, the recent School Challenge and the Juventus Soccer Training Camp promote teamwork and healthy competition.
Beyond the campus, Beau Site students embarked on exciting outdoor adventures, embracing the beauty of the Swiss Alps and nurturing a love for the great outdoors.
Our well-being activities feature weekly in-house Yoga sessions and termly spa visits, providing a serene escape and relaxation.
We also spend time with the school pets which include rabbits from the School Farm, not to mention the daily opportunities to walk our many school dogs!
Together, these activities promote holistic well-being, helping students recharge and find inner calm at Chalet Beau-Site.
M3 students went on an overnight expedition in Nax to challenge themselves on the via ferrata du Belvedère, successfully reaching the peak at 1224 m. After a fun night camping out in St Maurice, the team continued facing heights and developing resiliency with a rock climbing session in Saxon. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the beautiful weather!
Expedition MYP1
M1 students completed an overnight expedition in Pont de Nant involving various tasks such as a survival skill activity involving a plane crash scenario, making a shelter, fire, and searching for specific plants at the botanical garden. During the following day, they went on a beautiful hike along the Avançon river and enjoyed the vibrant autumn colours.
Still to come: MYP2's underground/overground expedition which will involve speleology (caving!) and a forest rope trail. Watch this space!
